Cisternino, Apulia
from 2 to 10 guests| 5 Rooms| 2 + 1 bathrooms

Description

From the parking lot, along a narrow path, you reach the Trulli and the main entrance of the house where you will find the first double bedroom furnished with a white wrought iron double-bed and bedside tables, two closets and large wooden Balinese drawers. The roof of the room has the typical cone shape with exposed wooden beams.

Via a connecting door, and situated alongside this room is a second large double bedded room. Two closets, an old walnut dresser and a desk under the window are located in the main cone of this room and if required, the room can accommodate an extra cot.

Passing under an arch on the left there is an alcove with an antique carpenter table and an ample Indian sofa, which can be used as a bed if necessary.

On the right there is another alcove hosting a bathroom built of local stone and river stone, featuring a large open shower, stone sink and toilet.

Descending a few stairs from this first great space (consisting of only Trulli), you enter the substantial open space Lamia which encompasses the kitchen and living room.
The kitchen cabinets are made of white bricks with shelves interspersed with working tops and dark walnut cabinets. All equipment such as cooker, hood, oven, dishwasher and American style refrigerator with ice dispenser are in stainless steel. The double sink is made of stone.

Exits from the kitchen lead to a patio where, in summer, you can eat around a large teak table under the shade of a gazebo and lemon trees. The other exit, a huge glass door, leads to the garden and pool area.

The kitchen and living room are divided on one side, by a double-sided fireplace and on the other by a long wooden table. White sofas built-in along the walls, a large wooden Indian sofa, a Kilim with warm colors on the wall,a Balinese table in the centre and many illuminated niches in the walls, give a welcoming and cosy atmosphere to this environment. In cold months, the fireplace gives an additional warmth to the room. A satellite TV and HiFi complete the decor.

Descending some steps from the kitchen, you enter the ancient Lamia, (previously serving as a stable) which has now been converted into a charming triple bedroom. The furnishings of this room consists of an ancient Indian king size bed which sits in the alcove (once the site of a manger), a single bed, a large walnut closet,a dresser and a desk under the window.

A door separates the living room from another sleeping area with one double bedroomone single bedroom and a bathroom. There are splendid views of the pool and garden from the wisteria-coloured double bedroom. An ancient Chinese four-poster bed is the dominating feature of this spectacular room, whilst a wardrobe and chair in Balinese wood and three ancient cabinets, add to the charm and comfort of this super room.

The adjoining single bedded room is furnished in a romantic style with a white iron bedstead and a large closet containing a discreetly enclosed washing machine.

The bathroom lies between the double and single rooms and incorporates a large brick bathtub with a central shower, a stone sink and the toilet.
